# Schema: Cemeteries of Clarke County records

Dataset `clarke-cemeteries-royston`, version 1.0.0, published 2026-10-16. One row per record; the CSV and the "Records" sheet of the XLSX carry the same columns in the same order.

| Column | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `record_id` | string | Stable Our Clarke identifier for the record, the anchor of its card on /cemeteries/. Does not change between versions. |
| `burial_place` | string | The burial place heading as the book prints it. |
| `burial_place_id` | string | Stable Our Clarke identifier for the burial place. |
| `book_part` | string | The part of the book the record is in: Crampton inscriptions (from the Clarke County Historical Association's Proceedings), Royston surveys 2004, or Church register lists. |
| `subsection` | string | The subsection heading the record sits under, as printed, where the book has one. |
| `record_kind` | string | grave, burial (from a register or list), marker (a stone with no name read), mention, lot owner, monument or plaque. |
| `name` | string | The name as printed. Empty when the book prints none or the scan garbled it (see withheld_fields). |
| `birth_date` | string | Birth date text exactly as printed. |
| `death_date` | string | Death date text exactly as printed. "no date" is the book's own wording for a stone cut before a death; it says nothing about whether the person has since died. |
| `burial_date` | string | Burial date text exactly as printed, mostly from church registers. |
| `year` | integer | Year read from death_date, or from burial_date when there is no death date. Empty when neither could be read. Never corrected. |
| `age` | string | Age as printed. |
| `lot` | string | Lot or row as printed. |
| `notes` | string | The book's notes for a table row, verbatim. Relationship abbreviations (w/, s/, d/) are the book's; no relationship is derived from them. |
| `entry` | string | The whole entry as printed, for records the book prints as a line or paragraph rather than a table row. |
| `burial_place_as_printed` | string | A burial place the record itself names, as printed (register lists name one per burial). |
| `status` | string | Status as printed in a register list. |
| `plaque` | string | The plaque or memorial the name is on, as printed. |
| `inscription` | string | Inscription lines as printed, separated by " / ". |
| `sources_cited` | string | The sources the book cites for the record, separated by semicolons. |
| `military_note` | string | yes when the record's notes name a war, a unit, a rank or a branch. A reading of the notes, not a service record. |
| `withheld_fields` | string | Space-separated fields not given because the scan garbled them. Look them up on the book page. |
| `book_page` | integer | Page of Royston (2005) the record is printed on. |
| `record_url` | url | The record's card on /cemeteries/. |
| `same_name_and_death_date` | string | Space-separated links to a death-register entry, Green Hill Cemetery record or veterans roll row with the same name and a death date agreeing to the day or month. A link is a match on the record, not a proof of identity. |

An empty cell means the value is not recorded in the source, or could not be read from it. It never means zero.
