What the source supports

That Nellie Mae Evans was named the teacher of the Hawthorne school for the 1925-26 session.

Uncertainty

Read from uncorrected OCR, not from the page image. Her surname runs across two blocks of the OCR, "Ev" at the end of one and "ans." at the start of the next; Evans is the joined reading. The list records appointments announced for the session, not who taught during it. The list gives the school only as Hawthorne. Whether it is the Hawthorne Schoolhouse of the 1992 architectural survey is not established, and that record is not linked.
