Send us something
Share a correction, a local story, or a source we should know about.
Know a specific date, place, name or transcription for something on the site? Help fill a gap instead.
Adding to the hubs? Submit a veteran, submit a church, or correct or remove something. These are reviewed by a person, and nothing is published automatically.
What is collected, and who can read it
What we collect: what you type in the boxes below, and the path of the page you came from (for example /stories/battletown/). The path only — not the full web address, so a search you ran or a tracking tag on a link you followed is not recorded. With JavaScript turned off, the page cannot fill that in, and no path is sent at all.
What we do not collect: no account, no file upload, no analytics profile, and no tracking of you by this project. Your name and email are optional; we use an email you give us to ask a follow-up question about what you sent.
Where it goes: to a private queue held by Netlify, the company that hosts this site. Mike Oak, who runs this project, reads it, along with anyone he has given access to that hosting account. Netlify keeps its own records of the request, as any web host does.
What happens next: a person reads it. Nothing you send is published, and nothing is added to the site’s record of events, without a person deciding to do that. If it leads to something on the site, it goes through the same source checking as everything else.
What we are not promising: we have not set a schedule for how long submissions are kept or when they are deleted, so please do not treat this form as private correspondence, and do not send anything sensitive through it.
