Person

Willie M. Snouffer

A high school teacher at Berryville High School for the 1925-26 session, named on the Clarke Courier's appointments list of July 1925 and, in full as Willie Morris Snouffer, in its staff notice of September.

What the sources support

The Clarke Courier's list of teacher appointments for the 1925-26 session, printed July 9, 1925, names Miss Willie M. Snouffer as one of the two high school teachers at Berryville High School, and the Courier of September 17, 1925 again names her, as Miss Willie Morris Snouffer, among the high school principal's assistants.

What the source supports

That Willie M. Snouffer was named one of the two high school teachers at Berryville High School for the 1925-26 session.

Uncertainty

Read from uncorrected OCR, not from the page image. Reading "Willie M." and "Willie Morris" as one teacher rests on the matching name in the same place on the staff. The July list records appointments announced for the session, not who taught during it. The September notice speaks of the principal of the high school and of two buildings without naming the school; it is read as Berryville High School because its principal and teachers match the July list.
