James Lindsey
James Lindsey, son of Postmaster E. A. Lindsey of Boyce, "received a war medal for valor at the front in France," the Clarke Courier reported in April 1923. The paper noted that the Virginia War History did not give his name in its list of Clarke men decorated in the World War, and that he had objected to the Courier's publishing the award at the time.
